Pour
point depressant
Specific
polymers and surfactants can prevent formation of these networks
by retarding the growth of waxy crystals, thereby producing
numerous tiny crystals. Change
in crystal shape diminishes the ability of waxy aggregates to
intergrow and interlock, resulting in lowering the pour point
of the crude.
Paraffin
dispersant:
Additives
can provide a fine coating (single monolayers) and change the
wax crystal surface by adsorption; keeping the entire system
dispersed. This predominately results in an improvement in the
waxes deposition behaviour in the crude oil.
Scomi
Anticor
has developed such a range of wax dispersant chemistry,
which has proved very effective in interacting with the wax
crystal formation mechanism. The chemicals work by interfering
with the wax crystallisation process.
Scomi
Anticor
has designed a specific paraffins dispersant
with
anti-sticking properties: Anticor
PA 500
Laboratory
tests (including flow
loop tests) and field
applications have proven that
Anticor
PA 500 is effective in significantly reducing
the paraffin deposition.
Anticor
PA 500 is a synergistic blend of ionic surfactants,
which has an ability to absorb onto bare surfaces of tubings
and equipment making them oleophobic.
